wrapping my soul around the things that bring me joy. ~ Faith Hunter
it is so easy to say yes to everything, agree to activities that don’t excite us, and commit out of fear of not having enough or missing out.
I spent the early years of my life using dance and music as a way to navigate the pain of family trauma coated in HIV and fear. the movement, sounds and connection to breath magically protected and guided me through. The beauty of creation appeared in the twirl, and I knew which way to go.
In my 20s I conformed to the pressures of parental and societal expectations. By the time my 30s rolled in, I began to unpack, unravel, and find new ways of being. Trust me, it was challenging and extremely difficult to release old patterns.
Something happened at 40, and basically I said “I don’t give a f*ck.” Over the past 10 years I’ve been creating the life I desire and crafting a path that belongs to ME. There are always moments of intense fear, uncertainty, and several situations where I’ve dipped back into habits of saying yes even when my soul said “hell no.” When those situations occur, I can always twirl around and dance in a direction that lights MY soul on fire.
Thank you everyone for the loving birthday wishes last Thursday (9/10) and throughout the weekend. Massive love and appreciation to my team at @embrace.om and @embraceyogadc, you guys bring me joy and divine inspiration. I’m truly blessed to have you in my life.

I bow to myself with kindness. ~ Faith Hunter, Shades of the Soul
just a little reminder ✨ we are pushing ourselves harder now than we did months ago. stressed and mentally taxed, we aren’t giving ourselves enough time to be still and breathe.
1. before you reach for the phone or check emails in the morning, take long deep breaths while expressing moments of gratitude for your amazing life.
2. place your phone on silence throughout the day. If you can’t because of family/work obligations, change the notification to a song or tone that brings you joy.
3. for dog moms/dads...walk your dog without the phone.
4. take a mid-day chill by going for a walk or relaxing on the floor 15-20mins.
I have several more tips, but the key is to be kind to yourself. this enables the brain to develop new pathways, and the body to heal.

creative healing hands 🙌🏾 radiating from the soul, it penetrates the physical form and soothes the subtle qualities of our existence. ~ Faith Hunter, #spirituallyfly
I am not healer, I’m a Healing Guide. I’ve personally explored and continue to explore the essence of my spiritual godlessness in human form. ✨ trust me, it’s been a journey, so many lessons, and tons of blessings have twirled within and around. like you, my soul was placed in this body to live out a divine purpose. it takes years for some to uncover their purpose. in my teaching, I encourage people to examine their past, and see the touches of purpose sprinkled throughout.
my purpose boils down to feeling, igniting spirit, creating beauty, and dancing with energy through my hands, heart and soul. I take all of what’s at my fingers on earth, from vibrational currents reflected in words, sound, movement, and anything that crosses my path. from there I activate the energy in a loving manner to ease the pressure of our human presence.
we are magnificent radiate energy waiting to soar! 💫 make time to tap into your powers and create.

in comes light
dancing like hummingbirds around darkness
flowing across waves of softness
kissing particles of thought
temporarily easing the temperature of rage
just enough for breath to say hello to fear
and calm to cradle love

Presenting Breonna Taylor for Vanity Fair’s September issue, “The Great Fire.”
Five months have passed since police killed Breonna Taylor in her own home, a violent crime that our September issue guest editor Ta-Nehisi Coates ascribes to a belief in Black people as a disaster, as calamity. “I don’t know how else to comprehend the jackboots bashing in Breonna Taylor’s door and spraying her home with bullets, except the belief that they were fighting some Great Fire—demonic, unnatural, inhuman.”
Coates chose the "The Great Fire" as the theme for the issue, which assembles activists, artists, and writers to offer a portrait of hope in a world where the possibility of a legitimate anti-racist majority is emerging for the first time in American history. “Something is happening,” writes @tanehisipcoates, “and I think to understand it, we must better understand the nature of this Great Fire.”
For his cover story, Coates tells Breonna’s story through the words of her mother. Also in the issue: an oral history of the historic days after George Floyd's death; a portfolio of creatives and visionaries who capture the spirit—and urgency—of the moment; director @ava DuVernay's conversation with revolutionary Angela Davis; and much more. good morning beautiful people 🌞 here’s one of my favorite practices to ELEVATE your soul!
#Repost via my new wellness brand @embrace.om.
Invite your ego to surrender.
@spirituallyfly is practicing ego eradicator— a powerful kundalini exercise to clear your energetic field and tune into your higher self. If you're feeling blocked or stuck, this is a great tool to help you subtly shift your energetic body.
Wanna give it a try?
1. Find an easy seated position.
2. Extend your arms toward the sky at 60 degrees. Curl your fingers in toward your palms and extend the thumbs up.
3. Close your eyes and direct your gaze to your first eye.
4. Begin breath of fire. This is a quick rhythmic inhale and exhale while snapping your belly in toward your abdomen. Continue for 1-3 minutes or longer if it’s in your practice. *
5. To end, inhale deeply and hold the breath. Draw the thumbs together so they touch. When the thumbs touch extend the other fingers towards the sky. On your exhale, sweep the hands down to the earth alongside you. Take a few breaths here to notice the energy and sensations in your body.
* If you’ve never tried breath of fire, we recommend starting with one minute and working your way up to longer periods of time!
